New Blog

I guess every author/photographer needs a homebase for their fans. I am not sure if I have any fans yet but if I do, I would love to hear from them. Something about Blogger seems a little more professional than other journal sites and it seems a little less egotisitical than Twitter. Not knocking either because I use them both frequently to get my work out there.

I would love to share with everyone something I am working on, or at least something I scribbled out today. Now, I am not a poetry person. I am actually a very long winded person and trying to squeeze all my emotions into very few words is a difficult process and achievement for me. Definitely feel free to give me some critique, please make sure it is helpful and not hurtful.

Southern Summers
I remember days- hotter an the sun!
Lawdy, they was hot and the sweat rolled.
I remember feelin seductive and sweet
In my minimal clothin while mowin.

And that yard, it needed the trimmin.
And my hair was just the same.
And my thoughts was just the same.

I remember cuttin the dirt beneath
And the weeds that tested strength.
I remember the cool ripplin crick
And rinsin the garden tools clean.

And those tools, they needed the cleanin.
And my face was just the same.
And my heart was just the same.

I remember pushin fresh dough.
Flour coatin my fingers to keep dry.
I remember rollin it flat like a sheet.
And it'd bake for hours in the dark.

And that dough needed pushin'
And my hips was just the same.
And my choice was just the same.

I'll remember these nights- hotter an the sun!
Lawdy, they are hot and the sweat rolls.
I'll remember feelin seductive and sweet
In no clothing and kissin your cheek.

Thanks everyone! Check for new stuff often!

I've added your new blog to my RSS feed so you have at least one fan who'll be checking up on you daily.

I love your poetry, it fills me with joy and empties me into sadness. Keep writing.
