Blockades

I have had several ideas lately but none of them really push the pen, if you know what I'm saying. I can't get the creative juice flowing enough to actual get something out on paper. I have been looking to my neices and nephews for inspiration and I see it in the motherly way Kristen, the eldest, helps Caiden, the youngest, into the little river boat and chides Cameron, the middle, for barking at David, the other middle. I see it in their Peter Pan like view of the world. I need to really write something about their adventures. JM Barrie did it. I can as well.

But, for now, until something else comes up. Photography.

I find that photography is what I do when I don't have the mind for writing. I wish I could draw but I turn to the mechanics of a camera before I turn to my own steady(NOT) hand.

Summer Toes
David in the pool. Despite the constant arguing that happens between the four of them, they are all really sweet and good kids.

Play Ball!
Cameron. Looking just like his daddy up to bat.

Interest
Kristen. She is a very unique girl growing up in a house full of boys. She is able to tackle and wrestle just like them but can switch gears into fake heels and fake pearls.

Caiden photographs might come later this afternoon.

Constantly Struggling
This is often how I feel. Sea sick from the world spinning out of control. But, there is something steady in the background. When I die, these book ends will go with me. Yes. They are book ends. Be jealous.

That is all I have for now. Shoo! Go read something worthwhile now. Surely to the Lord I will write something worthwhile today.

New Blog

I guess every author/photographer needs a homebase for their fans. I am not sure if I have any fans yet but if I do, I would love to hear from them. Something about Blogger seems a little more professional than other journal sites and it seems a little less egotisitical than Twitter. Not knocking either because I use them both frequently to get my work out there.

I would love to share with everyone something I am working on, or at least something I scribbled out today. Now, I am not a poetry person. I am actually a very long winded person and trying to squeeze all my emotions into very few words is a difficult process and achievement for me. Definitely feel free to give me some critique, please make sure it is helpful and not hurtful.

Southern Summers
I remember days- hotter an the sun!
Lawdy, they was hot and the sweat rolled.
I remember feelin seductive and sweet
In my minimal clothin while mowin.

And that yard, it needed the trimmin.
And my hair was just the same.
And my thoughts was just the same.

I remember cuttin the dirt beneath
And the weeds that tested strength.
I remember the cool ripplin crick
And rinsin the garden tools clean.

And those tools, they needed the cleanin.
And my face was just the same.
And my heart was just the same.

I remember pushin fresh dough.
Flour coatin my fingers to keep dry.
I remember rollin it flat like a sheet.
And it'd bake for hours in the dark.

And that dough needed pushin'
And my hips was just the same.
And my choice was just the same.

I'll remember these nights- hotter an the sun!
Lawdy, they are hot and the sweat rolls.
I'll remember feelin seductive and sweet
In no clothing and kissin your cheek.

Thanks everyone! Check for new stuff often!
